Sidhi News: Doctor Akhilesh Khare told Local 18 that children up to five years of age are being affected the most these days, so parents need to be very careful. The number of patients (children) in hospitals has almost doubled.
Straight. As the weather changes in Madhya Pradesh, the impact on people’s health is clearly visible, especially in small children, a rapid increase in the cases of cold, cough and fever is being recorded. Earlier there used to be mild heat in the month of March, but this time the temperature has suddenly increased, due to which it has had a direct impact on the health of children. The number of child patients is also continuously increasing in hospitals. According to doctors, the sudden change in weather weakens the immunity of children, due to which they fall ill quickly. This is the reason why the number of child patients in hospitals is increasing these days. While giving information to Local 18, Pediatrician Dr. Akhilesh Khare said that viruses become more active when the weather changes. Children’s body is not able to adjust itself immediately due to sudden fluctuations in temperature. The immunity of small children is not fully developed, so it takes more time for them to fight new viruses. For this reason, complaints of cold, cough and fever are being seen more in children these days.
Doctor Akhilesh Khare said that children up to five years of age are being affected the most these days, hence parents need to be especially cautious. The number of patients (children) in hospitals has almost doubled. Whereas earlier about 20 children used to come for treatment every day, now this number has increased to about 40. According to the doctor, when the temperature changes suddenly, the membrane inside the nose starts drying up. Due to this, the body’s natural defense system becomes weak and dust and viruses easily enter the body. When the temperature increases, the respiratory tubes also start shrinking, due to which children may have cough and difficulty in breathing. This is the reason why such problems are appearing more in small children.
Feed fruits rich in Vitamin C
Doctor Khare said that in such weather it is very important to keep the immunity of children strong. For this, special attention should be paid to the diet of children. They must be fed fruits rich in Vitamin C like orange, lemon and seasonal fruits. Apart from this, it is also important to give adequate amount of water to children so that there is no shortage of water in the body and dehydration can be prevented.
Take special care of cleanliness
Dr. Akhilesh Khare has also advised not to take children out of the AC room in extreme heat. Sudden change in temperature can also become a major reason for children falling ill. It is also important to take special care of cleanliness. According to Dr. Akhilesh Khare, after coming home from outside, children’s hands should be washed with soap for at least 20 seconds. This can prevent many types of infections. Overall, by eating right, cleanliness and taking some precautions, children can be protected from diseases to a great extent in this changing season.
