These days, a large number of patients related to eye allergy are reaching the Eye-Ear-Nose department of the District Hospital. Patients suffering from swelling under the eyes and other problems are being treated in the district hospital. The doctor of the district hospital said that there are many main reasons for swelling under the eyes. He told that often this problem can also be caused due to allergy, infection, conjunctivitis, lack of sleep or extreme fatigue. The doctor said that the swelling occurs due to accumulation of fluid in the thin skin around the eyes or swelling of small blood vessels.

Other reasons for this may also include sinus problems, crying for a long time or dry skin. He told that it can also be prevented with some home remedies. To reduce swelling, light compression can be done with ice or a cloth soaked in cold water. The doctor said that anti-allergy drops can be used as per the doctor’s advice and one should drink as much water as possible. The doctor also told that in such a situation one should not scratch the eyes and if the problem is severe then the nearest doctor should be consulted.

Swelling under the eyes occurs due to many reasons

The specialist doctor of the Eye, Ear and Nose Department of the District Hospital of Agra said that there can be many reasons for swelling under the eyes. He said that sometimes this also happens due to cavity, he said that when a lump is formed in the eyelids, sometimes swelling also starts appearing. The doctor said that in many cases this problem is seen with increasing age also. He told that generally this is not a serious disease, but since it is an eye related matter, one should not be careless in it. If this condition persists for a long time, a nearby specialist doctor should be consulted immediately. He said that sometimes carelessness can invite serious illness.

It can also be cured with home remedies

The doctor of the District Hospital of Agra said that the problem of swelling under the eyes can also be cured with some home remedies. He said that ice should be wrapped in a cotton cloth and applied lightly. The doctor told that the patient should get complete sleep and drink adequate amount of water. He said that using mobile phone for a long time is also harmful for the eyes. Nowadays youth use mobile phones till late night in the dark, which is a bad habit. The doctor told that the phone should never be used in the dark, he said that if the problem worsens then the doctor’s advice should be taken immediately. The doctor may also recommend some anti-allergy or anti-biotic medicines after the test.
