Calcutta : The Indian cricket team postponed the start of their practice session in Mumbai on Tuesday (March 3), so that it did not coincide with the timing of the lunar eclipse! Indian Express reports that Team India cricketers did not want to practice during the lunar eclipse.

Practice was scheduled from 6pm to 9pm at the Wankhede Stadium ahead of the crucial semi-final against England. Reception starts at 3:20 PM and ends at 6:47 PM.

“The team learned that any auspicious activity should be avoided during the lunar eclipse. Since India will play the semi-final against England this time, they wanted to start on a positive note. Many felt that the practice could be postponed till 6.40 pm and it would be better not to do any activity till then. The team management agreed and the practice was postponed by an hour” — claims the report.

The T20 World Cup 2026, which started on February 7, has now reached its final stage. 20 teams participated, but 16 teams were eliminated after the group stage and Super 8 stage. A total of 4 teams are set for the semi-finals — India, England, South Africa and New Zealand.
