Team India in Thiruananthapuram! There is a huge surprise outside the field!
Thiruananthapuram: India will play the final and fifth T20 International against New Zealand in Thiruananthapuram. A huge 40 feet cutout for Sanju Samson was installed to welcome him at the home ground.
Basically, India is going to play the fifth T20I at the Sanju Samson Fans Association (SSFA) Greenfield International Stadium.
This cutout is taken from the 1st T20 match between South Africa vs India played at the Kingsmead Stadium in Durban on 8 November 2024. Sanju Samson scored a brilliant century in that match and celebrated by flexing his biceps after completing his century, which got a great response from the fans.
This is not the first time that fans have shown such love and respect for Samson. Usually such an honor is reserved for world-renowned and legendary footballers, but a similar cutout was erected for Samson by his fans ahead of IPL 2024.
Sanju Samson is one of the most successful cricketers of Kerala. (The closest he comes is Sreesanth, though his career was full of controversies.) According to fans, this deep affection for Samson is due to his honesty, modest nature and down-to-earth personality.
