The mid-term elections being held in America have become a kind of litmus test for President Donald Trump.

Midterm Elections in America: Preparations for midterm elections have started in America. Primary voting is taking place in Texas, North Carolina and Arkansas. These voters will decide which candidates will contest for Congress in November. But these elections are starting at the same time when America and Israel have attacked Iran. Hundreds of people have been killed so far in this war that started four days ago. At least 787 people, 6 US Army soldiers and many civilians in the Gulf region have been killed. This war is now shaking American politics. Especially for Donald Trump, this is the first big test. Will this attack make his party stronger or will anger increase among the people and will the Democrats benefit?

Donald Trump has said that Iran’s ballistic and nuclear weapons They were a big threat to America. But there is less evidence for this. Some people in the Republican Party are justifying it, some are silent. The Senate fight in Texas is a good example of this. According to media reports, Democrat candidate James Talarico wrote after the attack – We don’t want any more forever wars. This was Trump’s answer to his old statement. But he did not go into much depth, only mentioned the deaths of American soldiers.

On the other hand, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett made a scathing attack on Trump. He said – How many more lives will be lost? The President has started this war by breaking the law and we Americans will have to bear the brunt of it. Many ex-servicemen live in Texas, so his words can have an impact there. On the Republican side, Attorney General Ken Paxton defended Trump, but said that Trump wants to end the war quickly. Senator John Cornyn said – It is easy to start a war, difficult to end it. Trump has shown courage.

But there’s another fight in Texas – Republican Dan Crenshaw vs. Steve Toth. Crenshaw is supportive of many of Trump’s policies, but also criticizes some of Trump’s associates. Trump has not supported him. If Crenshaw loses, it will be a sign of Trump’s weak grip on the party. The fight between Nida Allam vs Valerie Fauci is also heated in North Carolina. Allam is progressive. He took out an advertisement about the bombing of a girls’ school in Iran (165 deaths) and described himself as a peace-loving leader. He accused Fauci of taking money from defense companies, AI groups and AIPAC.

According to the report, Fauci supported the bill to limit Trump’s power to attack and said that the President has broken the Constitution. There is no clear objective or way to end. The North Carolina Senate seat (held by the retiring Thom Tillis) is also vacant. Former governor Roy Cooper is leading among the Democrats. He said that this costly and lengthy war is putting our soldiers in danger and diverting attention from domestic needs.

Among Republicans, Michael Whatley (Trump supported) is saying that he will be Trump’s partner in the Senate. This primary is a test of Trump’s real strength. In America, the ruling party usually suffers losses in midterm elections. People seem angry with Trump’s immigration policy, economy and Venezuela-Iran war. If the war makes Trump’s supporters more powerful and his party’s candidates win, then Trump will get more power. But if anger increases among people and Democrats vote more, then Trump may face a setback. How long the war will last, how many Americans will be killed and what will be the oil prices – all this will decide whether Trump becomes stronger or weaker. This is just the beginning. In the next weeks, a clearer picture will emerge in states like Illinois and Michigan.
