Washington. A snow storm warning has been issued on America’s east coast. According to American media reports and the Meteorological Department, due to the intensifying winter storm, there is a possibility of heavy snowfall, strong winds and flooding in coastal areas in the Central Atlantic and Northeastern America. Due to this, a snow storm warning has been issued in major cities including New York and Boston, due to which more than 1500 flights have been cancelled.
The National Weather Service’s Weather Prediction Center said the low pressure in the Southeast will move toward the south-central Atlantic coast by Sunday morning and rapidly deepen by the evening and move northeast along the East Coast. In its latest short-term forecast, the center warned of a major winter storm for the Northeast and heavy snowfall for the northern mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The weather forecast says snowfall will occur at a rate of more than an inch per hour at times, resulting in total snowfall of one to two feet, making travel nearly impossible. It also said the system will cause widespread severe impacts across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast from Sunday to Monday due to the rapid intensification of a low pressure system off the Mid-Atlantic coast.
