Satna: As soon as the summer season starts, the biggest challenge people face is to keep the body healthy and hydrated. As the temperature increases, water and essential electrolytes rapidly exit the body in the form of sweat, which increases the risk of problems like dehydration, dizziness, weakness and heat stroke. If timely attention is not paid to food and beverages, many health problems related to heat can arise. In such a situation, experts recommend consuming more and more fluids in summer so that the body temperature remains balanced and there is no shortage of water in the body.

Adequate water is most important for the body
Speaking to Local 18, dietician Mamta Pandey said that the most important thing in summer is to drink adequate amount of water. He says that a healthy person must drink about two and a half to three liters of water every day. If a person’s work involves more physical activity or the muscles are more active, then the amount of water should be increased further. He told that about 70 percent of the human body is made up of water, hence water is very important for the body to function properly.

Lemon sherbet and mango panna very beneficial in summer
According to the dietitian, apart from water, many natural beverages in summer not only cool the body but also provide essential nutrients. Lemon sherbet is considered to be the easiest and most beneficial drink among these. Vitamin C and electrolytes are found in good quantities in it which help in giving instant energy to the body.

Apart from this, Mango Panna is also a very beneficial beverage for summers. This drink made from raw mango is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin C and fiber. Mango leaves cool the body and is also considered very helpful in protecting from heat stroke. Sattu sherbet is also very beneficial in summer because iron, protein and fiber are found in abundance in sattu which not only gives energy to the body but also makes the stomach feel full for a long time.

Apart from this, sherbet made from mint and cucumber also helps in cooling the body. Both these things contain high amount of water which helps in keeping the body hydrated. If you wish, a healthy sherbet can also be prepared at home by grinding coconut, sugar candy, fennel and almonds, which provides relief from heat along with nourishing the body.

Coconut water and buttermilk are also great options
Coconut water is considered the best natural drink in summer. Many essential elements like antioxidants, potassium and magnesium are found in it which maintain the balance of electrolytes in the body. Drinking coconut water once a day helps in keeping the body fit and full of energy. Apart from this, buttermilk is also considered very beneficial for summers. Along with improving the metabolism of the body, it also strengthens the digestive system.

Use ORS in case of dehydration
According to the dietitian, if dehydration occurs in the body due to any reason, then consuming ORS is beneficial. With this, the body gets electrolytes immediately and the hydration level of the body gets balanced quickly. However, experts advise to stay away from processed cold drinks available in the market during summer. These contain fast calories and high amounts of sugar which can harm the body. Consuming them regularly can also have negative effects on health. In such a situation, including natural beverages in your daily routine is the best way to stay healthy in summer.
