Khandwa News: Dr. Rahul Patel told Local 18 that these home remedies help in providing relief from toothache and discomfort but if the cavity is severe, then do not rely only on remedies. In such a situation, it is important to see a dentist immediately.

Khandva. Nowadays, the problem of cavity in teeth is increasing rapidly in people of all ages. Sometimes slight sensitivity, sometimes severe pain while eating food, all these are the initial signs of tooth decay. Many times, when the cavity increases, there is a need for root canal i.e. RCT, but in the initial stage, by adopting some home remedies, one can get relief from pain and discomfort to a great extent. Bad eating habits, eating too much sweets, not brushing on time and not taking care of oral hygiene, all these are considered to be the major causes of cavity in teeth. If care is not taken in time, tooth decay continues to progress and the pain can become unbearable.

Khandva Dental expert Dr. Rahul Patel (Gurjar) tells Local 18 that in case of cavity in the teeth, it is important to first clean the teeth properly and control the bacteria. In the initial condition, some home remedies can help in reducing pain, swelling and infection. However, if the pain is severe or the swelling increases, it is important to consult a dentist.

Benefits of salt and mustard oil
Dr. Patel explains that salt and mustard oil have been used in tooth care since ancient times. Salt reduces bacteria while mustard oil helps strengthen the gums. Mix a few drops of mustard oil in a pinch of salt and gently massage the teeth and gums with this mixture. Doing this every morning and night reduces the dirt on your teeth and can also provide relief from pain.

Clove oil will give instant relief
Clove is considered a panacea for toothache. The anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties present in it help in soothing the pain caused by cavity. Apply clove oil to a small piece of cotton and place it on the tooth with cavity. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water. Doing this remedy once or twice a day can provide considerable relief from pain.

Gargle with neem leaves
Neem is considered a natural antiseptic in Ayurveda. Neem leaves help in reducing the harmful bacteria present in the mouth and keep the teeth clean. Boil some neem leaves in water and after it cools down, gargle with this water daily. This reduces bad breath and can prevent cavities from growing.

Doctor’s important advice
Dr. Rahul Patel says that these home remedies help in providing relief from pain and discomfort but if the cavity has become deep, then do not rely only on remedies. In such a situation, it is important to immediately consult a dentist so that there is no need for tooth extraction or major surgery in the future. Also, it is very important to brush twice a day, gargle after eating sweets and get your teeth checked from time to time.
