Currently, BCCI allows only retired players from all formats of international cricket, domestic cricket and IPL to play in foreign leagues. As a result, active Indian talent is confined to the domestic season or the two-month IPL season for most of the year, while players from other countries hone their skills by playing in leagues around the world throughout the year.
