Shiva started making parathas with his father from a very young age. He had just passed the seventh standard then. Wanted to study further, but thinking about the family situation, started selling paratha with his father. Now he earns lakhs of rupees a month by selling that parota. Shiv Parota is so famous that tourists from all over the country come to taste it.
Shiv said he has a paratha shop in Chaipatti, Bikaner. Here he himself makes parathas from morning till evening. The specialty of their shop is moth dal paratha. Nowhere else in Bikaner do you get moth dal paratha. Shiv makes about 40-50 motha dal parathas every day in his shop. The weight of this one Parota is about 300 grams. Each parcel costs 30 rupees. Shiv also gives a free curry along with this paratha, accompanied by a pickle. People come from far and wide to eat paratha here.
Shiv said that he has been making parathas for the past 17 years. He has been working with his father since childhood. Their shop is about 40 years old. Shiva said, ‘There was a time when the family was in financial trouble. Then the father started this work. Now I and my younger brother are trying to handle the work.’ Shiva and his brother’s efforts have temporarily restored their family harmony.
