Mumbai : Cricket stadiums hosting international tournaments are expected to follow strict hygiene rules. Especially when serving food and drinks to thousands of visitors!

A video widely shared on social media has raised concerns about hygiene during the ICC T20 World Cup at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The footage is said to be after a match this week. Cold drinks are seen being poured from used bottles into other bottles.

The video has sparked controversy. Some see this as a serious health risk, while others say the drinks may have been unsold, not used.

India and Sri Lanka are hosting the ICC T20 World Cup this year. The matches of the tournament are being held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi like other major venues of the two countries. The first match of the tournament was played between Netherlands and Namibia at this stadium on 10 February.

A spectator took a video while leaving the stadium after the match. In which he claims to have shown an unusual act by a staff member of the food and beverage department inside the venue. In the video, the drink is poured from the cup and filled into a large bottle.

The person recording the video can be heard saying, “People are re-bottling the surviving bottles of thumbs up that are now in the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The old bottles will be sold to those who come for the next match. There is a whole scam going on, isn’t it clear?” The video was first shared on Instagram and later spread to other platforms.
