Virat Kohli visited Sri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh to seek spiritual peace ahead of the deciding ODI series against New Zealand. He took some time out of his busy practice schedule before the series deciding match on Sunday, January 18, and attended this ancient Shiva temple. The main purpose of his visit was to seek God’s blessings before the match.
In the video published by news agency ANI, Kohli can be seen entering the temple premises and kneeling before Lord Shiva. He performs puja according to the rules and receives the traditional tika on the forehead. After the puja was over, he was seen leaving the temple premises with the security guards. At this time, the presence of devotees in the temple premises was also noticeable.
On the way out of the temple, many fans wanted to take a selfie with Kohli, but due to security reasons, he could not accept anyone’s request. He quickly moved towards his car. However, at the moment of leaving, responding to the sound of “Jai Shiva” coming from behind, Kohli also paid homage to Lord Shiva by saying “Jai Shiva”. In another video, he also participated in the aarti along with teammate Kuldeep Yadav.
This temple visit once again shows the spiritual mindset of Virat Kohli. The calm and steady mentality that has been evident in him over the last few years has clearly affected his performance on the field as well. From a mentally strong position, Kohli is now taking his game forward with clearer goals and confidence, which is undoubtedly a positive message for the Indian team.
