Originally from Bihar, this dish is now enjoyed by Maldah city in Baked Litti. Everyone, young and old, is flocking to the baked litti shop in the evening.
In a handful of places, including the post office intersection of Maldah city, there have been piles of baked litti since afternoon. The lithi is slowly being baked over the charcoal fire. This hot dish is now very popular in Maldah city. Vendor Pradeep Singh said, this food is mainly available in Bihar. Now there is a huge demand in the market of Malda. Selling well every day.
Boiled potatoes are served with baked litti. This litti is eaten with boiled potatoes. Baked litti on one side and boiled potatoes on the other. Both are good for health. No harm done. At present, a litty is being sold at 10 taka a piece in Malda. This is a large size litter. So just playing three to four will fill your stomach. So gradually the trend of eating it is increasing among common people.
Made with flour only. First, dough balls are made. An umbrella is provided inside it. Ginger, garlic paste, and chili powder are mixed well with chhatu. That umbrella is inside the dough ball. Then it is baked slowly in the oven. This is how it is prepared.
Seller Rajesh Singh said, “This litti is made of wheat flour chhatu. Potatoes are boiled with litti. Now it is selling well in Malda. It is being made in front of the shop. So people are eating this food more and more. Once this food of Bihar was not sold much in Malda. But now people are eating this food regularly.
