Saket Srinivasaiah Case: What happened so far?
Saket is originally from Karnataka. At present his age is 22 years. After doing B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the country’s top institute IIT Madras, he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from UC Berkeley, California. According to media reports, Saket Srinivasiah is missing since 09 February 2026. He was last seen near Anza Lake in the hills of Berkeley, about 1 kilometer from the campus.
Backpack found from missing place
According to reports, during the investigation, a backpack was found near Tilden Regional Park located near the campus, which contained Saket Srinivasaiah’s passport and laptop. It is believed that this backpack will be his. When his friends and family tried to contact him, there was no response. After this, the local police of California was informed, but till now no clue has been found. The San Francisco embassy and his friends have posted on social media about the disappearance.
The bitter truth of increasing insecurity abroad
In the last few years, cases of violence against Indian students or their sudden disappearance have increased in countries like America and Britain. The case of Saket Srinivasaiah is the latest in this list and is extremely worrying because he comes from a very secure and prestigious educational background. Saket Srinivasaiah’s family is in constant touch with the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs. The Indian Embassy in California has also assured to coordinate with the local authorities.
