American agencies are investigating the incident.

The incident of throwing explosives during protests near Gracie Mansion, the official residence of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, has created a sensation. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed on Monday that the incident was being investigated as terrorism inspired by ISIS. During a right-wing rally on Saturday, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were thrown into the crowd, which fortunately failed to explode.

Explosives could have been fatal
According to the police, nuts, bolts, screws and hobby fuse were used in these explosives. If they had burst, there could have been huge devastation and many people could have lost their lives. So far, two suspects have been detained in this case who are being interrogated by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. However, investigators have not yet found any direct connection to this incident with Iran or any foreign conflict.

The incident occurred while far-right activist Jack Lang was leading the Stop the Islamic Takeover of New York City rally. Rally organizer Jack Lang has previously been accused in the January 6 Capitol Hills riots and was recently pardoned by President Trump.
