Hyderabad: Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight RidersChennai Super Kings took to the field today in the city of Nawabs, aiming for their third win without defeat. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad stopped CSK’s streak. Sunrisers eventually won the second match, courtesy the batting of Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen and the bowling of Ishan Malinga and Nitish Kumar.
CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, the start did not go as CSK wanted, Sunrisers’ two openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head started batting devastatingly in the power play. Due to these two openers, Sunrisers scored 75 runs in the power play. Abhishek scored the fastest ever fifty for Sunrisers, in just 15 balls. However, Sunrisers lost two wickets in the very last two balls of the power play. Mukesh Chowdhury returned the head for 23 runs and Ishan Kishan for zero runs in consecutive balls.
Abhishek couldn’t go far after his half-century. He fell to Jamie Overton for 59 runs. No one could score runs for Sunrisers in the middle order. But Inform Classen survives on the other hand. He gradually increased the speed of the run. Klaasen completed his fifty off 32 balls. He returned to Sajghar with 59 runs off Ansul Kamboj. After that, the batting collapsed in the lower order. Sunrisers’ run rate also decreased by losing one wicket after another. In the end, Sunrisers failed to cross the two-hundred mark as they scored 194 runs for nine wickets.
In response, CSK got into the batting early. Nitish Kumar Reddy sent back Sanju Samson in the second over of the innings. However, Ayush started devastating batting when he dropped to three. CSK crossed the 50 run barrier in three overs. But just when it seemed that Mathere would help CSK score a big run in the power play, Nitish Kumar Reddy brought him back to Sajghar to give him the second success.
