Dhaka: Mehdi Hasan has been selected as the captain of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (ODI) format instead of Miraj. Liton DasWho (Liton Das). He was captain in T20 format earlier. Bangladesh Cricket Board President Tamim Iqbal on Wednesday announced Liton as the captain. According to sources, Litton will lead the country in the World Cup next year.

The decision was taken after a meeting of the Board of Directors at the Sher-e-Bangla International Stadium in Dhaka. Later in the press conference, Tamim said, ‘We had three captains in three formats. I along with other members of the board feel that it is better to have two captains in both formats. So we chose Lytton as the captain for both the white ball formats. It’s not about anyone’s performance here. But I think two different captains of white ball and red ball can lead the team properly. Our captain Nazmul Hossain is calm in the red ball format.’

Tamim praised Mehdi and said, ‘Bangladesh will win many more matches if Miraj gets into full rhythm. I spoke to him about the captaincy. He himself accepted the matter. After the Zimbabwe tour, I sat down with the coaches and support staff. We wanted to fix the plan for the next 6 months.’

It should be noted that under the leadership of Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Bangladesh has won 10 matches in 20 ODIs so far. Bangladesh lost all five of the first six matches.
