Ahmedabad: About a year ago. The star cricketer was found guilty of recreational drug use during the 2025 T20 League in South Africa. He was also exiled for a month. As the years go by, the star is once again at the center of controversy.

We are talking about Kagiso Rabada. In January 2025, Proteas cricketer Ramdhanur was banned for using cocaine during the country’s T20 league. He also publicly apologized for it. However, after a year, the star cricketer is once again in controversy due to a viral video. Currently, Rabada is part of IPL (IPL 2026) franchise Gujarat Titans. A man can be seen smoking in a Titans practice jersey in a viral video. Although the face is not clear due to the poor quality of the video, it is claimed that the cricketer seen in the video is Kagiso Rabada.

Although cocaine use is prohibited, smoking is not illegal at all. But many are questioning Rabadar’s smoking during the IPL, perhaps during practice or before matches. Questions are raised about his professionalism. Many have expressed outrage over how Rabada could do such a thing despite being a role model.

Although Rabadar was tested in January last year, he was banned during the IPL. So he went back to the country in the middle of the tournament and was not seen in a few IPL matches. Although nothing was said about it initially, Rabadar’s exile later came to light. But after that exile, Rabada again IPLHe returned. In this case, however, there is no possibility of any punishment other than criticizing him for smoking.

If Rabada were to face deportation, the pressure on the Titans would increase. Especially the way he is performing this season, Titans management will not want to lose him at all. The Protea star has already taken 10 wickets in six matches, the second highest for the Titans this season. Currently sixth in the league table, the Titans need Rabada to climb up and qualify for the play-offs. Whether he can lead the team to success or not, it is a matter to be seen.
