Mumbai: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been named in India’s squad for the tri-series in Sri Lanka. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-member squad on Thursday, May 14, which also included the name of 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Vaibhav sees India getting a place in this team Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjeev Goenka became emotional.

He wrote a long post on social media for Vaibhav, in which he mentions how the young player has reached this place in such a short time. It should be noted that Vaibhav is batting brilliantly for Rajasthan Royals in the current IPL. This season saw 1 century and 2 half-centuries from his bat.

Sanjeev Goenka wrote on X Handle, “Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s selection in the India team is worth celebrating for many reasons, the biggest of which is how much the young player has improved in such a short time.”

He also wrote, “Last year IPLFrom his debut in the U-19 World Cup to scoring 175 runs in the final and being adjudged the ‘Player of the Tournament’, the entire nation has been in awe of him. In just one year, he has shown tremendous talent, fearlessness and a constant hunger to improve. I am very happy to see Ayush Badoni in the team. Congratulations to both. Make India proud.”
