Retrieving dead bodies from Mount Everest is a very risky task. Especially above 8000 meters it is somewhat impossible to recover the body from the ‘death zone’. Bad weather, lack of oxygen, the body cannot cope with. Fatigue, frostbite often overwhelms the body near Hillary Step. In the cold, the body becomes cold like ice. 8-12 skilled people are required to recover a body. The oxygen cylinder has to be lifted with other equipment, which takes a lot of time. Besides, the cost is about 71 lakh rupees.
