Pant also led Delhi Capitals before leading Lucknow. But Panth didn’t fail there as much as he did as Lucknow’s captain. He was the captain of Lucknow in a total of 28 matches in this season and the previous season. Lucknow has won only 10 matches out of it.

Lucknow also lost their last league match in this year’s IPL. After the loss against Punjab, Lucknow coach Tom Moody said, ‘From a leadership point of view, Panth has faced a tough challenge. It is clear to see the results. The leadership pressure has also affected Panth’s batting. It’s just been a tough season for us. We have to review that over time. We have to look into everything.’ Tom Moody said that there will definitely be a review of the team before the 2027 season. Panth stepped down from the leadership after realizing the writing on the wall before thinking.
