Sandeep Sarkar, Kolkata: This is like a separate fruit in a journey.

According to the actual date of birth, it could have been delayed by another six months. Because, according to CAB records, he was born on January 14, 1957. But according to the admit card of Madhyamik, CAB Apex Committee member Ashish Chakraborty completed 70 on June 13. who came to the CAB as a representative of the Bankura District Sports Association. He was also elected to the Apex Committee. However, according to the recommendations of the Lodha Committee appointed by the Supreme Court, it is clearly written in the revised constitution of the Indian Cricket Board and all affiliated organizations that the age of seventy cannot be held any more. So Ashish went directly to CAB President Sourav Gangopadhyay and submitted his resignation letter on Thursday evening. He informed that he is no longer in the Apex Committee and resigned.

However, even if there is a question about the age of the vice president of the same organization, it is alleged that he is not paying attention. He is 70 years old in the Revised Electoral Roll (SIR). The document is also in the hands of ABP Live Bangla. But CAB Vice President Nitisaranjan Dutt, better known in Maidan as Anu Dutt, is allegedly clinging to the post. When asked about this, Saaf clearly says, ‘My age is 69 years old in my passport. Don’t know how SIR got 70. There is no question of resignation.’

After hearing what CAB is saying, how can there be two different rules for two people! The question is raised, if Ashish, who is of different age in two places, can resign ‘on the basis of conscience’, then how can Nithisharanjan remain on the post of Vice President! Lodha Committee’s recommendation and Supreme Court Anu is being accused of contempt.

However, Ashish is not hiding his decision to resign. ABP told Live Bangla, ‘I could have stayed for another six months if I wanted. Age of academic documents. But on June 13, my actual age has completed 70. I don’t want such questions to arise about me as there was controversy in CAB about staying in post even after crossing the age of 70 recently. I have been thinking about it for a few days. I discussed with the family. Finally, out of conscience, I went to Sourav and handed over the resignation letter directly to him. Thanks to Saurabh for making me a member of the Apex Committee.’

Without naming names, Ashish alluded to the controversy over Madan Ghosh, the newly-formed CAB joint secretary, who is clinging to the post even after crossing the seventy. CAB was forced to remove him after many controversies. A new joint secretary will be elected by holding a special general meeting on July 20. Nominations can be submitted till July 12.

As per rules, Apex committee vacancies are to be filled within 60 days of Ashish attaining the age of 70. However, there is not enough time to issue a new notice and hold elections for two posts simultaneously on July 20. Therefore, CAB will have to fill the vacancy of the Apex Committee by calling a special general meeting again after July 20. At least that’s what the rules say.

Ashish’s decision to resign is welcomed by a section of Maidan. For those who think, Ashish made an example. But from another part, it is said that Ashish’s arrival as a representative of the Bankura District Sports Association in the annual general meeting of last year was not without controversy. It is being said that the then Secretary of Bankura District Sports Association Atanu Dey was supposed to come, but Ashish came to CAB instead of him at the last moment. Resignation of the controversy that cut?
