Bristol: Team India has to digest the humiliating defeat in the third match of the T20 series against England (IND vs ENG). India lost the match by 125 runs after being all out for just 76 runs. India has never lost by such a big margin in terms of runs before in T20 cricket.
After the defeat in the third T20 match, the decision of not playing Sanju Samson is being brought up. India played the cricketer, who performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup, in the rain-soaked first match of the current series. Sanju did not get a run in that match. After that, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is being played by excluding him from the XI.
Indian team coach Gautam Gambhir had to deal with one bouncer after another after dropping Samson after losing to England in 2 T20 matches in a row.
Gambhir, however, supports the team management’s decision. Sanju was told clearly why he was excluded. Gambhir said, ‘Sanju Samson got the transparency he needed from me. What conversation took place was between the head coach and a player. It is not meant to be told to outsiders. If you talk about transparency, what Sanju has done in the World Cup is unbelievable. But sometimes you have to look at the form of a player. And the fact that he is out does not mean that he will never return to the team. There is no definite rule that he will not return in this series. The real thing in international cricket is results. The combination that can give the result will be played. That’s how the eleventh should be arranged. And I always believe everyone has to earn their place. To play for India, you have to get a place in the team.
