Eden Gardens was also the recipient of the night as Royal Challengers Bangalore (GT vs RCB) became IPL champions for the second time after defeating Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. On May 31, CAB Treasurer Sanjay Das accepted the check at the awards stage on the night of the IPL final.

However, the CAB curators or field workers have not received the prize money yet! For those who are recognized for the best field!

As soon as this news became known, commotion started inside the CAB. Explosive allegations are emerging one after another. There is pressure going on.

According to CAB sources, 40 per cent, i.e. 20 lakh rupees, of the 50 lakh rupees awarded by the Indian Cricket Board as a prize for the best ground in the IPL, has been distributed equally among the office workers of the organization. After investigation, it was found that all the workers of CAB office received approximately 38 thousand taka per head. The CAB decided that this year’s prize money will be distributed equally among all the clerks. Whatever position he holds. That’s why everyone from CAB chief executive officer to peon, got equal amount of money. Almost everyone in CAB supports that sharing policy.

But the remaining 60 percent of the prize money, i.e. 30 lakh rupees, was scored. Which is what curators and field workers are supposed to get. Dissatisfaction has been created about who will get how much from that money. As a result, the people involved in the preparation and maintenance of the ground for which the CAB won the best award have not yet received their due amount. Even two months after the end of IPL.

But why are the field workers not getting a share of the prize money? Sensational information was found after searching. It is known that there is a letter of recommendation behind it. The recommendation letter prepared by Sujan Mukherjee, Chief Curator of CAB. Allegedly, there is no sharing policy, but Sujan himself has fixed a certain amount of money for each person. Allegations of discrimination are being raised regarding the distribution of prize money. And that’s why the prize share of curators and field workers is stuck.

Talking to several people associated with the daily activities of CAB, it was learned that Sujan himself allocated 5 lakh rupees for himself in the recommendation letter! The rest of the curators recommended one-of-a-kind money for each. Incidentally, the chief curator of CAB is Sujan. There are 9 assistant curators under him. There are 16 gardeners in Eden. 12 gardeners in the grounds of Jadavpur University in Salt Lake. Besides, there are contract gardeners in some other fields controlled by CAB. Who also come and work at Eden during IPL. In all, the number of field workers is about 70.

After inquiry, it was found that Sujan has recommended separate prize money for assistant curators as well. Recommended minimum amount for field workers. The figure is approximately 15-16 thousand taka per head. And that’s the dissatisfaction. Anger among fieldworkers-curators. That being said, how can someone recommend such a large sum of money in his own name? It is also being said that the least amount of prize money is recommended for those who build and maintain the field and pitch despite sun-storm-water! Allegations of deprivation are rising.

On inquiry into the CAB, it was revealed that there was a strong disagreement over the distribution of the prize money. CAB president Sourav Gangopadhyay and other office bearers are sitting in a meeting to solve that.

Sujan told ABP Live Bangla when asked about the discrimination in award money distribution, ‘Not everyone has the same responsibility. Someone sweeps the field, cuts the grass, someone runs a roller, gives water. Someone covers the ground. Eden has its own gardener. CAB also has staff in other fields. Who performs various duties during IPL. Everyone’s prize money cannot be the same. Besides, we brought in several boys from outside during IPL and Bengal T20 League. I also asked them to share the prize money. Where is the injustice in this?’

Have you recommended Rs 5 lakh for yourself? Sujan says, ‘Nonsense. Ask CAB to decide how much money will be shared from the prize money. I didn’t say anything for myself.’ He added, ‘It does not seem that there is a delay in the distribution of the prize money. Earlier also when we got the best field award, it took longer to distribute the money.’

Curators, assistant curators, field workers, gardeners – everyone is curious to know what happens at Tuesday’s meeting. The demand for equal distribution is getting stronger among the Malis.
