Trinidad: Brian Lara Cricket Academy witnessed all-time history on Monday. West Indian’s Justin Greaves has done what has not been seen in Test cricket till date.

West Indies is going to play the first test match against Pakistan (WI vs Pakistan) in Trinidad. Graves made history with the ball in the first innings of that match. He took five wickets without conceding a single run in the last five overs. Made history. No one has achieved this feat in Test cricket before. Stuart Broad took a four-over wicket maiden against South Africa in Johannesburg a decade ago. That was the world record for wicket maiden overs so far. But it is now in the possession of West Indies all-rounder Graves.

After this historic achievement, Graves claimed that he was simply keeping the ball on the correct line length rather than trying to overcomplicate it as suggested by captain Roston Chase. He said that because of the light swing of the ball, it was convenient for him to take the wicket. He was very happy to get five wickets in an innings for the first time in his career.

After conceding 27 runs in his first six overs, Graves opened the account in the crucial 64th over of the Pakistan innings, with the wicket of centurion Shan Masood. He dismissed Amir Jamal on the second ball of the next over. In the next three overs, Graves sent Ali Usman, Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Abbas back to the dressing room one by one. Took five wickets. Incidentally, this was Graves’ first innings five-wicket haul in Tests, and the first time he had taken five wickets.

In this devastating bowling of Graves, Pakistan was all out for 282 runs from three wickets for 244 runs. The Caribbean team took the lead by 29 runs. But in the second innings, West Indies are also under a lot of pressure. At the end of the third day’s play, West Indies’ score was 126 for seven wickets. The West Indian batters returned to the dressing room consecutively with the fast bowling of four Pakistan bowlers including the experienced bowler Mohammad Abbas. Shamar Joseph and Kimar Roach took the run a little further by adding 33 runs for the eighth wicket. But no more established batters. So Pakistan will want to quickly break this pair to wrap up the West Eng innings with few runs so that they can win the match by chasing less runs.
