Bankura: Sreejoy Sengupta, a resident of Kenduadihi of Bankura, made the name of Bankura and West Bengal shine by achieving extraordinary success in the swimming competition at the DAV National Games organized in Hyderabad. This class VI student of MDV DAV Public School participated in this national level competition as the representative of West Bengal.

Sreejoy proved his mettle in the Under-14 category by competing against competitors from various states across the country. He won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal in this national level competition. Winning four medals in one competition is a clear indication of Srijay’s talent and hard work.

According to Sreejoy, the biggest contribution behind his success is his coach and family. He said that it was the encouragement and support of his grandmother and grandfather that gave him the courage to move forward. Sreejoy also points out that regular practice and discipline are the keys to this success.

Srijoy regularly practices swimming at Pratap Bagan in Bankura. His coach and family believe that this success has come as a result of giving equal importance to sports along with studies. Sreejay now aims to continue the same success on bigger stages in the future, at the national level and beyond.

Shrijay’s achievement filled Bankura with joy. The school authorities, teachers, parents and local sports fans are proud of his success and are expecting more success in the coming days.
