In Sanatan culture, every rites, customs and rituals from birth to death are mentioned in the scriptures. From birth rites, tonsure, marriage to funeral rites, everything is based on classical rules. In this tradition, the age for conception i.e. ‘baby planning’ has also been prescribed in the scriptures. According to the scriptures, in the Karmadhar Sanskar of Manusmriti, the best age for pregnancy for a woman has been stated to be 16 to 22 years. Astrologer Girdhar Jha tells that earlier this tradition was prevalent in the society. After marriage at an early age and adultery after a few years, family life began. However, in modern times this is no longer possible. Due to education, career, social changes and government laws, the age of marriage and motherhood has increased. The government has also fixed the minimum age for marriage. In such a situation, there is a clear difference between the beliefs of the scriptures and today’s social system.
