US President Donald Trump has once again made a big claim regarding the Nobel Peace Prize. Despite not receiving the award in 2025, Trump has started calling himself the strongest contender for the Nobel from the beginning of 2026. While talking to reporters at the White House, Trump said that he has stopped many major and long-running wars in the world and for this reason he should receive the Nobel Peace Prize. His statement came when he attacked Venezuela. Trump claimed that he ended a total of eight major conflicts or stopped them before they turned into war. According to him, many of these conflicts were going on for 25 to 36 years. He said that he did all this without any major military operation and fear of nuclear weapons. Trump called it the biggest success of his foreign policy.

Again claimed to stop India-Pakistan conflict

Referring to South Asia, Trump said that the situation between India and Pakistan had become very dangerous. Military tension between the two countries had increased so much that planes were being shot down and the fear of nuclear war had arisen. According to Trump, due to America’s mediation and pressure, this conflict stopped before it turned into a war. He said that if this war had happened, millions of people could have lost their lives. Trump also claimed that the Prime Minister of Pakistan had publicly admitted that because of Trump’s role, the war between India and Pakistan was averted and the lives of about one crore people were saved. Trump said that such results should be enough for the Nobel Peace Prize.

What questions were raised on Barack Obama’s Nobel?

In his statement, Trump also took a dig at former President Barack Obama. He said that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize shortly after becoming President and even Obama himself did not know why he received this honor. Trump said that if stopping war is the criteria for Nobel, then his record is much stronger. Trump also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has also praised him. According to him, Putin had acknowledged that the conflicts which Russia could not resolve over the years were ended by Trump through negotiations and pressure.

Demanding Nobel Peace Prize even after attacking Venezuela

However, Trump also added that he does not run after awards. The most important thing for them is to save people’s lives, especially in situations when there is tension between countries having nuclear weapons. He said that such conflicts can become a disaster for the entire world and stopping them is the biggest responsibility of any leader. This statement has come at a time when Trump attacked Venezuela and forcibly arrested its President. They attacked a country and almost started a new war. In such a situation, his demand for Nobel seems very strange.
