A total of eight teams of tribal youths from different villages of Chatna block participated in this competition organized at Kazubadam football ground near Lohagarh intersection. On the first day of this two-day tournament, there was great excitement on the field. One attack after another, goal attempts, the excitement of the gallery-filled spectators—all in all, the entire area turned into a lively football festival.

IC Bitul Pal of Chatna Police Station, Majbabu Sujit Kumar Majhi, Chatna Block Collective Development Officer Saurabh Dhall, Chatna Super Specialty Hospital Super Dr. Buddhadev Murmu and Ghoshergram Panchayat Chief Shantanu Kundu were present in the opening ceremony. The guests all encouraged the players and emphasized on road safety and adherence to traffic rules. According to the organizers, not only advice is needed to educate today’s youth, but also attractive media.

As football is the favorite sport of the youth, efforts have been made to spread the message of ‘Safe Drive Save Life’ through this sport. The main aim of this initiative is to create awareness about using helmets, obeying speed limit, not driving under the influence of alcohol. Note that the final match of this two-day competition will be held tomorrow. Chatana’s initiative to combine football and social responsibility is undoubtedly an exemplary example.
