In-form Ishan Kishan’s devastating batting performance created a new history in international T20 cricket. In the recently concluded five-match T20I series against New Zealand, India smashed the previous record of England and Australia by hitting a total of 69 sixes. With this, the Indian team now owns the most number of sixes in a bilateral T20I series.

India’s batting in this series was aggressive and dominant in one word. India posted a massive score of 271 in the last match, with 23 sixes accounting for more than half of the total. With power hitting, perfect timing and constant pressure on the bowlers, the Indian batsmen have impressed the crowd throughout the series.

This record was previously held by England. England hit a total of 64 sixes in a five-match T20I series against the West Indies in 2023. In that series, opener Phil Salt single-handedly contributed 22 sixes and became the epitome of England’s attacking batting.

In 2025, against the same opposition, the West Indies, Australia also hit 64 sixes, which were joint second. Tim David hit 15 sixes in that series, while Cameron Greene and Mitchell Owen hit 12 sixes each to prove Australia’s strong middle order.

Another notable name in this list is Cambodia, who hit 62 sixes in a series against Indonesia in 2025. But in the latest performance, India proved that their power hitting is now not among the best teams in the world, but at the top in modern T20 cricket.
