When Hollywood director James Cameron was making the film ‘Avatar’, he expressed confidence in a veteran Bollywood actor and offered him a lead role in the film. You will be surprised to know that he had rejected the offer of this film. However, along with rejecting the film, this Hindi cinema hero also advised Cameron for the title ‘Avatar’.

But you will also be surprised to know that Bollywood actor Govinda was offered the lead role in ‘Avatar 1’ by James Cameron. Govinda himself named this film ‘Avatar’ but rejected the offer to work in the film.
Govinda has given many superhit films to Bollywood. If James had agreed to Cameron’s advice, he would have been a part of the world famous film ‘Avatar’. Govinda once appeared on India TV’s show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’. The actor had claimed regarding the film ‘Avatar’ that he was offered the film by Hollywood director James Cameron. Govinda had told that he has rejected many films in his career.
The name ‘Avatar’ was given by Govinda himself.
Govinda told that ‘I had suggested the title of the film to him and this film became a superhit. I told Cameron that the film would take about 7-8 years to make and he was disappointed by that. He asked me how I could say with such confidence that ‘Avatar’ cannot be made quickly. I replied saying that from my point of view it seemed impossible and as I had predicted, the film came after 7 years and was a huge success.
Refused because of body painting
Govinda had further told that ‘I had told Cameron that it is not in my power to paint my entire body blue and stay for 410 days’. In this way Govinda refused to do James Cameron’s films.
Sequel ‘Avatar 2’ came after 13 years
It took James Cameron 13 years to make ‘Avatar 2’, the sequel to ‘Avatar 1’. This film, released on 16 December, is being liked very much by the audience. Currently, ‘Avatar 2’ is earning tremendously at the box office.
