The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will be announced from February 7. A total of 20 teams are participating in this tournament to be held jointly by India and Sri Lanka. The teams are divided into four groups and the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super-8 stage. After that, the champion will be determined through the knockout stage. Notably, India are the defending champions of the tournament. Team India created history by winning the T20 World Cup 2024.
Although India won the 2024 World Cup, Australia’s star pacer Pat Cummins stood out in that tournament. His brilliant bowling performance created new history in the world of cricket. Pat Cummins became the only bowler in T20 World Cup history to take a hat-trick in two consecutive matches.

The first hat-trick came against Bangladesh. In the match played on 20 June 2024, Pat Cummins dismissed Towhid Hriday, Mahmudullah and Mehdi Hasan in three consecutive balls. Australia beat Bangladesh by 28 runs by DLS method due to his extraordinary bowling. In this match, Cummins made his name in the history of T20 World Cup.
Just two days later, on 22 June 2024, Pat Cummins scored another hat-trick against Afghanistan in Kingston. He dismissed Karim Janat, Rashid Khan and Gulbadin Naib with three balls in a row. Although Australia failed to bat in this match and lost by 21 runs, this feat of Pat Cummins will be remembered in the history of World Twenty20.
