Interestingly, this time it is going to be held not just in one city but in two cities. This is the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup that the Captain’s Day will be held not only in two different cities, but in two different countries.

The T20 World Cup 2026 will begin on February 7, and two days before that, on February 5, there will be a ‘Captain’s Day’—where captains of all teams will present their plans to the media and take part in photo sessions.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav along with Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Harry Brook (England), Dilpreet Bajwa (Canada), Wayne Madsen (Italy), Gerhard Erasmus (Namibia), Rohit Paudel (Nepal), Mitchell Centner (New Zealand), Richie Berrington (Scotland), Aiden Markram (South Africa), Manak Patel (USA) and Shai Hope (West Indies) will be present in Mumbai.

On the other hand, the captains of India’s arch-rivals Pakistan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands, Oman, UAE and Zimbabwe will participate in the event in Colombo.

Colombo and Mumbai will host the opening matches of the tournament on February 7. Pakistan will take on the Netherlands in the Group A match at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground in Colombo from 11 am Indian time. India will then play their first match in Group A against the USA at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai starting at 7 PM.
