Gambhir On Pakistan Boycotting India Match: Gambhir seemed about to say something, but stopped. What happened next was sensational
Kolkata: The T20 World Cup 2026 is facing a turbulent situation. Pakistan has been isolated in world cricket after refusing to play against India in the tournament in solidarity with Bangladesh. However, Pakistan did not officially inform the ICC about their decision.
What action the ICC will take against the PCB regarding this mega drama by Pakistan will be known in the future, but in the midst of all this, a video of Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir is going viral. In fact, when Gautam Gambhir was asked a question about Pakistan’s decision to refuse to play a T20 World Cup match against India, his response grabbed the headlines.
When Gautam Gambhir was on his way to Mumbai, he was asked by the media personnel at the airport about not wanting to play Pakistan against India in the T20 World Cup, but the head coach of Team India seemed to avoid saying anything about it. However, Gambhir first thanked the media for their wishes for Team India. Then when asked about Pakistan, he withdrew without comment. At one point, Gambhir seemed about to say something, but stopped. A video of this is going viral on social media.
The Pakistani government allowed their cricket team to play in the tournament, but not to field against India. The decision has sparked controversy, as the India-Pakistan match is important not only for the game but also for revenue. If this match is not played, ICC’s revenue will suffer severely. However, so far the International Cricket Council has not received any official information from the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding the alleged boycott, due to which the ICC has not taken any action.
Team India is all set to create history by winning the T20 World Cup. No team has ever won a T20 World Cup at home. Moreover, no team has ever won the tournament three times. Currently, Team India is focusing on their preparations. As part of the preparations for the tournament, the team will play their first warm-up match against South Africa, before starting their campaign against the USA on February 7.
India and Pakistan are placed in the same group, which also includes Namibia, Netherlands and America (USA). The much-awaited match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be played in Colombo on February 15, but after Pakistan’s decision to boycott it, a cloud of crisis is looming over it.
