Sports experts feel that this new synthetic track will provide more scientific and improved practice opportunities for future athletes like them.

The sports community of North Bengal is naturally happy with the news of the development of this infrastructure at Jalpaiguri as the second synthetic track in West Bengal after Kolkata. Due to the long monsoon, many athletes had to interrupt their training due to the bad condition of the field. Construction of synthetic track will eliminate that problem and it will be possible to continue regular practice throughout the year.

Modern ‘sandwich stone’ technology is being used in the construction of this track, so that there will be no problem of water logging and the track will be long lasting. The eight-lane track will provide practice facilities for all athletics events like long jump, high jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, javelin and hammer throw along with 100, 200 and 400 meter races. All in all, this synthetic track at Jalpaiguri is going to usher in a new horizon in the North Bengal sports arena where future champions will dream.
