Epstein Files: Serious allegations against former British royal member Prince Andrew have come to light in the new batch of millions of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein recently released by the US Department of Justice (DOJ). Court documents claim that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and notorious financier Epstein forced an exotic dancer to have sex with her during a private party held at Epstein’s home in Florida in 2006 and treated her like a prostitute. These allegations have come to light in the form of legal papers, which were made public last week. The documents are part of more than three million Epstein-related records released by the US Department of Justice. According to the report of British newspaper ‘The Telegraph’, the woman in question worked in a strip club in Florida and was taken to perform at a party organized at Epstein’s Palm Beach residence in early 2006.
In court documents, the victim woman’s lawyer William K. Vogeler alleged that during the party his client was taken to an upstairs bedroom, where he was introduced to Epstein and Prince Andrew. According to the letter, the woman danced in front of both of them and took off her clothes and was left only in bra and underwear. After this, both of them (Epstein and Andrew) expressed their desire to have a ‘threesome’ with her and when she refused, various types of pressure were put on her. The letter claims that the woman had clarified that she was hired only for dance and not for physical relations. However, Epstein allegedly persuaded her to engage in sexual activity by promising to pay her later. According to the lawyer, the woman was treated like a prostitute and the experience was humiliating and mentally traumatizing for her.
Allegation of not making full payment to the dancer
The documents also state that other young girls were also present at the party, some of whom appeared to be as young as 14 and were wearing provocative clothing. However, these allegations could not be independently confirmed. The woman also told that after the incident, both the men had offered her a trip to the Virgin Islands, which she rejected. After this he was dropped back at the strip club. In a letter sent to Epstein’s attorney on March 23, 2011, attorney Vogeler alleged that Epstein had verbally promised the woman $10,000 to perform at the party, but she was only given $2,000. On this basis, a settlement of 2.5 lakh dollars was demanded from the woman, so that she could keep the alleged incident confidential. It was said in the letter that this confidentiality would also apply to Prince Andrew.
What is the claim of the victim’s lawyer?
Court documents read, ‘My client has not made any claims regarding this incident until now because she is embarrassed by the circumstances of that night. She was working as an exotic dancer, but she was treated like a prostitute. However, Epstein’s lawyers reportedly described this payment demand as a ‘shakedown/extortion’. It is not clear whether any settlement was reached in this matter or not. The new documents have also shed further light on the long-standing relationship between Epstein and Prince Andrew. The files include photos of Andrew with an unidentified woman and indicate that the two remained in contact after Epstein’s arrest in 2010 for sexual relations with a minor. This claim contradicts Prince Andrew’s earlier statements, in which he had said that he had severed all ties with Epstein.
close ties to epstein
Emails made public last year revealed that Andrews was in contact with Epstein until at least 2011. The latest documents also indicate that till 2017, Epstein continued to have information about activities related to the royal palace. This has intensified the renewed debate in both Britain and America about the role of Prince Andrew and his relationship with Epstein. Several prominent leaders, including US Vice President JD Vance, are now demanding that Prince Andrew be called to testify before the US Congress on his relationship with Epstein. However, there has been no official response from Buckingham Palace on these new allegations at this time. Prince Andrew has previously denied allegations against Epstein and in 2022 reached an out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre in another sexual assault case, although he did not admit any wrongdoing.
continuous revelations
Since Jeffrey Epstein’s suicide in a New York prison in 2019, there have been continuous revelations about his activities and his relations with influential people. New documents released by the US Justice Department are said to be aimed at bringing greater transparency about his network, alleged crimes and associates. However, there are many allegations in these files which have not yet been investigated or confirmed in the court. The latest revelations have once again raised serious questions on the accountability of powerful and influential people, the safety of victims and the role of the justice system in cases related to sexual exploitation. Experts say that if there is an independent investigation into these allegations, it could not only reveal the full picture of the Epstein network, but could also encourage victims in such cases to come forward.
