Dr. Piyush Maheshwari, Assistant Professor and Ayurvedacharya of Aligarh Ayurvedic Medical College, UP told News18. That Triphala is made up of three medicinal fruits Amla, Harad and Baheda. According to Ayurveda, it helps in detoxifying the body, improving digestion and balancing doshas. Amla is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, which strengthens the hair roots, while myrobalan and baheda are considered helpful in keeping the scalp healthy.
Ayurveda expert said that hair fall often occurs due to lack of nutrition in the body and weak digestion. Triphala powder improves the absorption of nutrients by improving the digestive system. When the body gets proper nutrition, it directly affects the hair roots. With regular consumption, hair roots can become stronger and the problem of breakage and hair fall can gradually reduce. Consuming Triphala also strengthens the immune system.
According to the doctor, the antioxidants present in Triphala help in removing the dirt and toxins accumulated in the scalp. This keeps the scalp clean and can improve blood circulation. Improved blood flow helps deliver nutrition to the hair follicles, which can support new hair growth and improve hair thickness. Apart from this, Triphala powder can also be considered very effective in keeping the skin healthy.
Now the question is how and when to consume Triphala powder? Ayurveda expert said that Triphala powder is consumed with lukewarm water or honey before sleeping at night. Half to one teaspoon of Triphala powder in a day is considered sufficient. Some people also take it in the morning on an empty stomach. However, it is better to start with a small quantity before consuming it for the first time, so that the body’s reaction can be understood.
