India beat England by 100 runs in the final in Harare, Zimbabwe to win the U-19 World Cup title for a record sixth time.
KOLKATA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Team India after India’s Under-19 cricket team won the World Cup on Friday, saying the victory would “inspire many young athletes”. In a post on the X-handle, the Prime Minister said, India’s cricket talent has once again shined on the world stage. He congratulated the team for bringing home the U-19 World Cup and said that they played very well throughout the tournament.
Prime Minister Modi said, “Our U-19 team is proud to bring home the World Cup. The team played very well throughout the tournament, displaying exceptional skills. This win will also inspire many young sportspersons. Best wishes to the players for their upcoming endeavours.”

One of the main attractions of the final was opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who performed brilliantly on the biggest stage of his young career. The teenage batsman reached this milestone with a remarkable century off just 55 balls and played a vital role in India’s victory.
