Talks and pressure: ICC and its board members sit in talks over the next few days. A delegation of ICC, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and other officials met in Lahore to end the impasse. Officials have stressed that canceling the match would have significant commercial implications, including loss of broadcasting revenue not only for the ICC but also for multiple member boards. Although the exact figures have not been officially released, it is known that the India-Pakistan match is one of the biggest revenue drivers of the entire tournament. At the same time, the Bangladesh Cricket Board called on Pakistan to reconsider its boycott, citing global cricket interests. The India-Pakistan match will be played in Colombo (Sri Lanka) and will significantly boost the country’s tourism industry. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has written a letter to the PCB reminding them how the board has supported them in the past.
