But in the meantime, some Televaza are quite popular. Such is Shantiram Manna’s Televaza shop in Mahakaltala, Madghurali, Jagatvallabhpur. The store is 40 years old.
Shopkeeper Shanti Manna is over 60 years old. Shanti Babu is managing the sweet and oil fry shop with a few artisans. Not only local people but also kharidars come from neighboring villages to fry Shantiram manna in oil. Dal bara is made by mixing two types of dal, motor and khesari dal. One kg of peas and 250 grams of khesari dal. After soaking for two or three hours, the dal is kneaded. When the batter is finished, mix raw chillies and some masalas and thin it without oil. Hot crispy dal braa, which is not paired.
Buyer Sanju Manna said, ‘Santiram Manna is very famous in Televaja area. Especially Shingara and Dal Bara. From my childhood, I have seen pulses being sold in this shop. Even in this present time people come to the shop to eat dal braa.’
In this context, the seller Shantiram Manna said, 40 years shop. People come in search to eat fried in oil. 7 to 8 types of oil fry are prepared daily. Dal Bara in particular is growing in popularity. Once twenty-thirty pieces of dal Bara were made but sometimes remained unsold. But currently four to five hundred pieces of dal Bara are sold in a few hours. What is particularly noteworthy is that this Televaza is also a favorite of the relatives of the locals. Fried in oil with or without sweets from relative’s house. Many people took them home at the request of their relatives.
