Jitendra Kumar Maurya, resident of Barkachha Khurd village of Mirzapur, has set a new example by cultivating star fruit. Initially he had planted only one plant as a trial, but after getting better results, he is now cultivating it on a large scale. At present, the yield from his crop has also started, due to which he is getting good profit.
Mirzapur. The name of this star-like fruit is Kamarkha. However, it is famous only by the name of star fruit. Star is not just in name but also in work. Calcium and iron are found in abundance in sour and sweet tasting fruits. The fruit is sweet when ripe and tastes sour when raw. There is a lot of demand for it in the market. When demand is low, it is sold at the rate of Rs 8 to 10 per kg and during summer season. Fruits are obtained thrice a year. Once planted, it starts bearing fruits after six months. Cultivation of star fruit is beneficial for farmers.

It starts bearing fruits after 6 months and also bears fruits thrice in a year. Once born, reproduction starts again after a month.
8 to 10 rupees per piece sale
Jitendra Kumar Maurya said that the demand for this fruit is high in the markets. It is sold both at the rate of kilo and by piece. One piece is sold for 8 to 10 rupees. It is mostly used as a fruit in worship. Eating is very beneficial even during illness. There is demand for it during the summer season. Star fruit is used as a fruit, but can also be used as chutney at home. The chutney prepared after mixing salt and garlic tastes amazing.

Jitendra Kumar Maurya told that this tree was planted during the rainy season. It’s been two years and the yield is plentiful. Neither chemical fertilizer nor any precision is required in its cultivation. If you are sowing it then use home prepared organic fertilizer or vermicompost. This increases its yield and also speeds up growth.
