Krishnanagar: Sweets are loved by almost all of us. A little bit of sweetness at the end of the meal makes the meal complete. Bengal has plenty of famous sweets. Rasgolla, sandesh, pantua, sweet curd, etc. are there, but in different districts of Bengal different types of famous sweets are made which are now known in the court of the world. Similarly the famous sarbhaja and sarpuria of Krishnanagar is a kind of sweet.

Sarbhaja and Sarpuria of Krishnanagar are among the famous sweets of different districts of Bengal. The history of this sweet is connected with the palace of Krishnanagar. It is known that this sweet was first made in 1902. The then Maharaja of Krishnanagar ate this sweet and appreciated it very much. This sweet was also brought to the royal puja.

The sandesh is prepared by boiling milk and draining the water from the milk by mixing milk with it and also by mixing different materials such as peanuts, cardamom, pistachios etc. The latex is then divided into three layers. First, there is a layer of milk in the middle of the lower layer. Then another layer of movement is given. Then a layer of latex sandah is applied again, on top of which another layer of sand is applied. Basically, this delicious Sarpuria is made by mixing milk and curd layer by layer, which people flock to buy in Krishnanagar all year round.
