No matter how high the mercury in the market is, if you bring sixteen to his shop, you will get potato chops, onion chops, garlic chops. Local residents also claim that his business activities are showing the way to ‘self-reliance’ in the area. Geeta Devi sits next to the crematorium of Shanti Colony in Kaliaganj. His shop opens at 6pm every day. His Televaza shop closes at 11pm some days and at 12pm some days.

As soon as Geeta Devi’s shop opens, she has no time to catch her breath. The shop continues to be crowded with customers till 10 pm. It is known that Geeta Devi has been running this shop for the last 30 years. By making different types of chops in his shop at different times of the year, he has already hit the shelves not only in Kaliaganj city but also in the surrounding areas. He has been doing this alone for years.

Chop seller Geeta Ghosh said that he married three of his daughters depending on this Televaja shop. Ever since her husband died 20 years ago, she has to fight alone to support the family. Then he married three girls one by one. Now he earns by making chops and selling them alone, and somehow his family survives.
