Colombo : Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav instructed his team not to sledge Pakistan’s batsmen unnecessarily! He gave this order in the second innings of the T20 World Cup 2026 match held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on February 15. In that match, India once again showed dominance and defeated Pakistan by 61 runs.

In a video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Suryakumar is seen giving a clear message to his teammates that they should focus on their own skills instead of getting involved in a fight on the field. Instead of getting involved in mental games, the captain advised his team to respond with bat and ball performances.

In a video released by the BCCI, Suryakumar Yadav can be heard saying, “Keep running between the wickets. Don’t say anything to anyone. Not sledging for no reason. We have to play good cricket. We will win this match on skill.”

Notably, the match was held amid multiple controversies. Before the start of the tournament, Pakistan had threatened not to play the match. But later they changed their decision due to the intervention of the International Cricket Council. While India maintained a ‘no-handshake policy’ against their arch-rivals, there was no further drama on the field, with neither player engaging in a verbal spat.

From the start of the match, India ensured that there was no chance of drama! Ishan Kishan scored 77 runs off 40 balls to build India’s innings. The rest also reached the team to 175 runs. Pakistan’s run-chase drops and loses from the start.
