Health News: Many medicinal plants grow naturally during the rainy season in the Vindhya region. Among these, Chakor, which is called Chakoda in the local language and Chakramard in Sanskrit, has special significance. It has been used in Ayurveda for centuries and even today it is proving effective in many diseases. According to Ayurveda physician Dr. Vipin Singh, Chakor plant is very beneficial in diabetes, cough, throat infection and skin diseases. The decoction of its leaves provides relief from cough with mucus. Consuming the juice of the leaves is beneficial in case of persistent cold or cough. It can also be used in times of throat swelling or infection. The use of chakor seeds and leaves is considered effective in skin diseases. In case of ringworm, itching or rashes, grinding the seeds and applying it on the affected area with curd provides relief. Consumption of juice of leaves and seeds is also beneficial for diabetic patients.
