How does it help in diabetes?
Dr. Vipin Singh explains that the alkaloid elements found in evergreen leaves are considered helpful in controlling blood sugar level. Some research has also revealed that it can affect insulin secretion. However, diabetic patients should take it only after doctor’s advice, because wrong quantity can also cause harm.

Also beneficial in blood pressure and infection
Limited use of evergreen leaves and roots is considered beneficial in high blood pressure. Apart from this, antibacterial and antifungal properties are found in it, which can help in fighting infection. The juice of its flowers is traditionally used for sore throat, while its root is considered a tonic for the digestive system.

Also used in cancer research
Chemicals like Vincristine and Vinblastine obtained from evergreen plants are used in cancer medicines in modern medicine. However, this use is strictly under medical supervision. It should not be used at home without consultation.
