New Delhi: The echo emanating from within the earth is now becoming a puzzle for the human mind. Recently the Space Weather Watchdog has felt a strange movement in the Earth’s ‘heartbeat’. This is called Schumann resonance, which usually remains in a stable rhythm. But the sudden surge in it in the month of February has increased the concern of experts. It is believed that this electromagnetic change is affecting people’s mind and body. Many people, even without any disease, are experiencing strange ringing in the ears and heaviness in the head. According to NASA, this frequency is generated between the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere. When there are fluctuations in it, it is directly related to our nervous system.
What is Schumann Resonance and why is it increasing?
When the energy emitted from the sun hits the Earth’s magnetic field, this frequency increases. There were about four days this month when this scale crossed 5.0, which can cause trouble for sensitive people.
What effect does it have on your brain and sleep?
- The human brain also works on electrical waves i.e. brain waves. When we relax or try to sleep, our brain produces ‘theta’ waves. The frequency of these waves is between 4 to 8 Hz, which is approximately equal to Schumann Resonance.
- When this frequency of the earth suddenly increases, it disturbs the natural balance of our brain. Due to this, the circadian rhythm of people i.e. sleep-wake cycle is affected.
- People wake up suddenly at night or do not get deep sleep. Apart from this, brain fog i.e. difficulty in thinking and understanding and unnecessary irritability can also be the result of this electromagnetic disturbance.
What is the secret of ringing in the ears?
Nowadays many people are complaining of ‘tinnitus’ or continuous buzzing sound in the ears. It is also called ‘The Hum’. When the frequency of Schumann Resonance goes above normal, we feel pressure on the inner part and nerves of our ear. It is exactly the same as it feels when standing near a big transformer. People who suffer from electromagnetic sensitivity may experience dizziness and migraine-like pain. Although science is still doing further research on this, a research conducted in Japan suggests that low-frequency changes can also affect blood pressure.
Is it really dangerous for health?
There is no consensus among scientists regarding this matter. While some experts are seeing this being directly linked to health, some believe that it could be just a coincidence.
Scientists have created a scale from 0 to 9 to measure this movement. 0 means peace and 9 means a huge geomagnetic storm, which can even knock out power grids and satellites. This time it has reached level 5, which is considered quite serious.
Even though concrete evidence of this is still being collected, the experiences of thousands of people indicate that this movement of the universe is changing something within our body too.
