Will Trump do 'limited strike'? Khamenei is challenging for direct war… 5 big updatesZoom

Five big updates related to America-Iran tension.

The Middle East is going through a period of extreme tension. The American army is deploying a fleet in the Arabian Sea. Experts having knowledge of the geopolitics of the Middle East say that Donald Trump can order an attack at any time. Because America has deployed its two giant aircraft carriers – USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and USS Gerald R. in the Arabian Sea region near Iran. Ford (CVN-78) are deployed. Fighter jets and helicopters present on the aircraft carrier were trying to intimidate Iran by flying continuously. At the same time, last Tuesday, Iran also showed its strength to America in the sea by launching its dangerous Shahid Sayyid Shirazi, the first naval vertical missile of Sayyid-3G long-range SAM, and showed that it is ready to deal with any attack.

According to The Wall Street Journal, according to the news on Thursday, Donald Trump is considering a limited strike on Iran so that it is forced to accept his demands for the nuclear agreement. On the other hand, Tehran also warned that if there is an attack, enemy bases will become legitimate targets. However, if American media is to be believed, initial US strikes on Iran may start within a few days, in which some military or government places will be targeted. But, this will not be a large-scale attack which could cause a big reaction from Iran.

On the other hand, according to the reports published in Iranian media, if America makes its military threats and attacks, then American bases, facilities and properties will be its target. Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, gave this information in a letter written to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the President of the Security Council. The letter reads, ‘Such an aggressive statement by the President of the United States… signals a real threat of military aggression, the consequences of which would be devastating for the region and pose a serious threat to international peace and security.’ He called on the Security Council to immediately end its unlawful threats of use of force by the United States.

Let us know the five big updates related to Iran and America-

  1. According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report, to stop Tehran, the Donald Trump administration is considering a plan to carry out limited air strikes on selected military and government targets in Tehran, which can be extended to the goal of ‘regime change’ if uranium enrichment is not stopped. Amidst this potential threat, Iran has clarified its position in the United Nations and has openly warned America that it will not back down from retaliating against enemy forces for its defense.
  2. Amid tensions over ongoing talks with the US and the massive US military build-up in the region, Iran’s senior clerics have sharply criticized the approach to talks with Washington during Friday prayers and warned of retaliation. Mohammad Hassan Abutorabi Fard, Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader, claimed that Israel is now “reluctant” to attack Iran after the experience of last year’s “12-day war”, as the episode has demonstrated Iran’s indomitable power. Fard argues that US attacks on Iranian nuclear sites and Israel’s campaign during that conflict have profoundly changed the regional balance, with the “Zionists” now afraid to show aggression against Iran because they know they have no effective defense against Iran’s power. He also clarified that the current round of talks with Washington is being conducted within a comprehensive strategy set by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
  3. Three Iranian-origin engineers from Silicon Valley in America, Samaneh Ghandali (41), Mohammadjavad Khosravi (40) and his half-sister Sorour Ghandali (32), have been arrested on charges of stealing highly sensitive trade secrets related to processor security and cryptography from major tech companies including Google. The FBI and the Northern District Federal Court of California said that all three have been charged with serious charges of trade secret theft, conspiracy and obstruction of justice. The investigation revealed that Samaneh and Sorour had worked at Google and later moved to another company, while Khosravi (Samaneh’s husband) was in another company. It is alleged that he stole confidential technology related to mobile computer processor and sent it to Iran and other unauthorized places. All three are residents of Sanjoje and appeared in the court on Thursday.
  4. After the talks held in Geneva, both the countries are thinking before taking any drastic steps and are still insisting on talks in view of the far-reaching consequences. White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt acknowledged that limited progress has been made in the discussions, but said the two sides are still far apart on key issues. He warned that Iran will have to come back with concrete proposals. It would be wise for Tehran to reach an agreement with the Trump administration.
  5. Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk has urged its citizens to leave Iran immediately, warning that the situation could deteriorate rapidly and the time available for evacuation could run out in a very short time. Meanwhile, Iran has stepped up its military activities, carrying out naval exercises with Russia and live-fire exercises near key shipping lanes, while the US has deployed an aircraft carrier and additional fighter planes to the region.
