Under this bill, the name of Palm Beach International Airport will be changed to “President Donald J. Trump International Airport”. The Republican-majority Florida Senate and House have approved this bill. Now it is awaiting the signature of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to finally make it a law.

Palm Beach Airport has a personal connection with President Trump, as it is located a short distance from his private residence ‘Mar-a-Lago’. Once legislation is enacted at the state level, approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will also be required to officially implement this name change.

Controversy over naming of Kennedy Center

According to American media reports and official statements, efforts have come to light to link President Trump’s name to many other places. The Treasury Department has confirmed that a $1 commemorative coin has been drafted that will feature Trump’s image. However, according to current US rules, it is prohibited to display the image of a living or sitting president on currency. According to reports, efforts were also made to name Washington’s Dulles International Airport and New York’s Penn Station after Trump, but these proposals were not accepted.
