This was possible because they were surgically implanted with a uterus donated by a deceased woman. This is the first case in Britain when a woman has given birth to a child with the help of a deceased donor.

According to the report of SkyNews, this child has been named Hugo Powell. He was born by caesarean section in a London hospital in December. His weight at the time of birth was about 3 kg. The child’s mother, Grace Bell, discovered at the age of 16 that she had a rare problem in which the uterus was not properly formed. At that time the doctors had clearly said that she would never be able to conceive on her own.

This news was a big shock for Grace. She tells that that day she went to the washroom of the hospital and cried a lot. She felt that her dream of becoming a mother was over forever.
